GLENDALE - The Coyotes will return to action on Saturday night when they host the Nashville Predators at Gila River Arena. The puck drops at 6 p.m. Arizona time.

Coyotes:
Arizona will attempt to end a season-long six-game winless streak (0-3-3) before heading out on a four-game road trip.

"Everyone is here for a reason and everyone is a good hockey player," goalie Mike Smith said after the team's 2-1 overtime loss to Calgary on Thursday. "I think we just need to start to believe in that."

Smith is expected to start vs. Nashville. His .926 save percentage ranks eighth in the NHL among goalies who have played at least 12 games.

Captain Shane Doan will enter the game needing one goal to reach 400 for his NHL career. When he scores it Doan will become the eighth active player in the League to reach 400 goals and the 93rd player overall.

Alex Goligoski is just one of six NHL defenseman to have at least 10 assists, 50 blocked shots and 30 hits this season.

The Coyotes may have to play minus forward Max Domi who suffered an upper-body injury during a fight in Thursday's game. Domi did not practice Friday.

Arizona traded for center Peter Holland on Friday, but he is not expected to join the team until next week.

Predators:
Nashville (12-10-4) has lost three of its past four games and has given up 17 goals in those four games.

Pekka Rinne is expected to start in goal seeking his 250th career victory. Rinne is 15-6-2 with a 1.99 goals-against average in 24 games vs. Arizona, and he's shut the Coyotes out six times.

Center Mike Ribeiro leads the Predators with 18 points, including 15 assists. Defenseman P.K. Subban and forward Ryan Johansen are close behind with 17 points each.

Defensemen Ryan Ellis (upper-body injury) and forward Colton Sissons (upper-body injury), who are on the injured-reserve list, practiced Friday and are nearing returns.

The Predators have won just three of 13 road games, and have been outscored, 47-32, away from home.

"There's no excuse, there really isn't," defenseman Mattias Ekholm told reporters after a 5-2 loss at Dallas on Thursday. "We've just got to get better on the road. That's the bottom line."

No Domi, so that leaves us just Vrby to score goals.

Might be time to start gassing up the tank.

So they shellacked the Predators. Makes perfect sense. The coyotes can't even tank well.

Well, obviously, Domi, Duclair, Stone, and Connauton are too blame for the recent losses of the team.
