Whatever, 52. Did I say that he was out there every shift with Biz? No. I was mainly talking even strength and over the past season or two. Don't get me wrong, he needs some consistency, but we aren't putting him with the right line to allow for him to excel on a regular basis. Of course, we don't have the "right" line to put him on (one with decent offensive-minded players).

Personally, I would like to see him with Whitney and Vermette, but it would be pure idiocy to place Whitney on a non-Vrbata line at present. My point was that Boeds has the tools to do well, but he's not a marquee player (a la Malkin/healthy Crosby) and he needs to be on a line with a proven assist-man.

Admittedly, this is probably the wrong thread for this discussion, but I wanted to clarify that I wasn't "bashing Boeds" (some of us do care if our posts might be taken the wrong way or possibly insult other posters :P ), I just got carried a way a bit...

Ya, we just have a horrible team here, it's amazing we have not lost every game and judging from your predictions, the fact we do not probably disappoints you..

Don't make me take off my Mod cap

*Mod Cap on*
Again, I never said we had a horrible team. I know I post longer than "tweet-length," but it helps to read the entire post. I merely said that Boedker is better-suited for an offensive-minded team rather than our defense-first approach (which is not a bad thing). Still, I personally have become a bit frustrated with the "play-for-the-point" mentality of late (which I did see in this thread's game--it would have been much nicer to comeback and whoop them in regulation rather than taking it to the SO). Instead of actually trying to close things out in regulation, we end up shutting the opponent down in hopes that we can attain that playoff spot for yet another 1st round exit. Trust me, I hope we make it to the playoffs and at least go the the second round (that would show progress in my mind), I just don't think we currently have the right "team-balance" to succeed in the playoffs this season. Of course, I realize the importance of making it to the playoffs (in terms of revenue), but I would actually like to see my team "play to win" rather than "play to make it to the playoffs in hopes that it increases owner interest in the team and to increase our revenue streams to make up for some of the shortfall we have taken as we sit in the limbo of ownership/marketing."

*Mod cap off*
And in terms of my "predictions," you should really not take them too seriously since I'm merely entertaining myself with them (much like you tend to do with a fair share of your posts  ) In actuality, I have begun reverse-predicting out of fear that if I predict a 'Yotes win, we will hid a losing skid that will take us out of the playoff picture. Of course, now that I confessed that, I won't be making predictions until the 'Yotes drop a game or two (so let's hope I won't be making any predictions for the rest of the season).

*Mod cap back on*

Nothing ban-worthy has been posted...yet :) Of course if such a thing occurs, I may have to ban myself before I ban you (or have Stunned or Matz do it for me)

Even though I've been blessed with the "promotion," the pre-Mod me is occasionally freed and enjoys a bit of bantering; unfortunately, I must behave myself most of the time or feel the wrath of Marcel or Rick (they are mean when crossed--mod boot camp was excruciating).

Man, I didn't see it that way at all. And, in fact, it infuriated me. What I saw was Tip completely overplaying a few guys, most notably whitney, to the point of ridiculousness trying to win it in Reg. I loved the fact that we were trying, but I hated his line management and I believe it cost us the win in regulation. I was going to rip on Whitney and Tip after the game because of it. I felt like that was a perfect time to inject guys like Boeds, and it just didn't happen.

Whitney redeemed himself in the shootout, and I had calmed down about his crap late third play. I also felt like it was really mostly Tips fault for not keeping him fresher. Notably I was also getting tired of seeing Langks out there as well. The irony with Langkow is that I left a comment on the cutting room floor the other day when Vrbata-bing made that sick game winner move against the Stars. When that happened I commented that I knew Vrbata would make that goal. What I chose to not say was that there are guys on the team that I felt would have been extremely likely to choke on that wide open opportunity to make a move and finish the game. And Langkow was one of the first guys that came to mind as someone that would likely blow that opportunity...

Anywho, I certainly didn't feel like we were playing it safe being content to get a point and see what happens in the SO.
This group is Simply incredible...
